ESD-safe guarantees that static energy from your body will be “dumped” to ground through the plastic soldering iron handle or solder station plastic housing. Otherwise, your static body energy will possibly be transferred to the tip of your soldering iron and damage your IC components. ZD-8916 will discharge your body’s static charge to ground every time you pick up the soldering iron.
