My process is designed to be transparent, collaborative, and efficient, ensuring the final audio not only meets but exceeds your expectations. From initial planning to final delivery, you will be involved every step of the way to ensure the soundscape we build is a perfect fit for your project.
Phase 1: Discovery & Planning
This initial phase is all about understanding your vision. We work together to establish a clear creative and technical foundation for the project.
- Initial Consultation: We begin with a detailed discussion about your game’s narrative, aesthetic, and specific audio needs.
- Asset List Creation: We will collaborate to create a definitive list of all sound effects required for the game.
- Creative Direction: An initial sound palette is established to define the unique audio identity for your project.
Phase 2: Creative Development & Iteration
This is where the vision comes to life. Using a combination of professional tools and creative techniques, I craft the custom sound effects for your world.
- Sound Crafting: I create your unique audio assets using professional Digital Audio Workstations like Reaper, Bitwig, and Nuendo, along with advanced editing tools such as Wavelab and Spectralayers.
- Review & Feedback: First drafts of the work are delivered to you for review. Per our agreements, you will have a set period (typically fourteen days) to accept or formally reject any delivered work.
- Revisions: If any work is rejected, I will use commercially reasonable best efforts to make the necessary changes in a timely manner to conform to your needs. The scope and number of revisions will be based on our agreed-upon proposal.
Phase 3: Middleware Implementation (Optional Service)
For projects that require it, I can build and organize the audio within industry-standard middleware, preparing it for your development team.
- FMOD & Wwise: I create all necessary events, parameters, and logic within a dedicated FMOD or Wwise project.
- Deliverable: The final output is a clean, organized, and ready-to-use middleware project bank that your programming team can easily hook into your game.
Phase 4: Final Delivery
Once all assets are approved and finalized, I deliver a complete package, ready for your game.
-
File Formats: All final sound effects are delivered in high-quality, game-ready formats.
- Delivery Method: Assets are delivered via your preferred secure method, such as Dropbox, Google Drive, or Git.
- Final Invoicing: A final invoice is submitted for completed work as per the payment schedule outlined in our agreement.
